Dr. Eugene Clark Library

For Teachers

Dear Teachers-

Below are links to  forms and information of the many services the Dr. Eugene Clark Library has to offer. We share with teachers the desire to help students succeed.

The library serves as a focal point for local activities and is the major source of informational and recreational reading for our community.

We are very proud to have the oldest continuously operating library in the State of Texas and welcome school visits at anytime although we encourage tours we suggest

you schedule your visits during the holidays when the library is decorated for “A Dickens’ Christmas in Lockhart”.

To schedule a tour, please give us a call or email us.

Each visit consists of:

  • tour of the library
  • storytelling
  • discuss how a library functions &
  • time to checkout library materials

Our Youth Services Clerk will also be visiting schools and share a story with the students. Please give us a call so that we may schedule.

The Dr. Eugene Clark Library also has different events throughout the year.

  • Dickens’ Christmas in Lockhart
  • Summer Reading Club
  • Evening with the Authors
  • Scare the Dickens’ Out of Us: Story Writing contest
  • Author Book Signings
  • Preschool Story Time
  • Mariachi Festival
  • After School Homework Club
  • Teen and Preteen Book Clubs
  • Literacy Night &
  • Computer Classes

Teachers play an important role in the world of education because the future and the behavior of the student is based on the teachings given by the teachers.

Please accept our sincerest gratitude for your superior job you are doing for our future.

You may send any forms filled out to scastanon@lockhart-tx.org , come by the library, or you may give us a call and our youth services clerk may pick the forms up.

Please contact us if you have any questions or comments.

With grateful thanks,
