Your Library Card

Getting a card, renewing materials, placing holds, etc.

Who can get a card

Library cards are now required to access the internet. If you do not have a library account with us you will need to setup one. If you live outside Lockhart city limits and need computer use only we can issue you a library card with computer privileges only. 

Residents of Lockhart within city limits can apply for a library card at no cost.  18 years and younger must have parent or legal guardian to fill out application. Please bring proof of residency. Other persons outside of city limits may get a card for the low cost of $10.00 annually.  

How to Get Your Card
Come in and fill out an application. You may also download one here and bring it in. Click here to download a child's application.

Borrowing Limits
You may checkout to 10 books. 2 week time limit. You may check out 3 DVD's. 3 day time limit.

Placing Holds
If there is a book you are looking for and it is checked out to another patron we can put this book on hold for you. Then when the book is checked in we know to give you a call and let you know it is here for you to check out. Or you can go to our card catalog and place a hold on a book.

Renewing Your Borrowed Items
Please call the library at 512-398-3223. We can extend your due date over the phone. Or you can go to our card catalog and renew your items.

Library Fines
Books are .10 cents a day. DVD's are $1.00 a day.
